接待員

Our Needs:

We need speakers with good Cantonese and English language skills who can thrive in a fast-paced environment.
This is an ongoing role with lots of openings.

Your Skills & Experience:

You have a good telephone manner and a willingness to meet new people including our residents, families, staff and other volunteers.
You will also be familiar with Microsoft Word.

Your Commitment:

Days of the week and the number of hours are flexible so please tell us your schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

You will learn:

We will train you in the use of our telephone system and coach you in how to respond to a variety of inquiries.
This role is perfect for someone wanting experience in an office administrative role or for a retiree wanting to give back to the community.

專業圖像設計

Our Needs:

We need individuals with a passion for marketing & social media – in all its forms – to promote our community here at Villa Cathay.

Your Skills & Experience:

You will have good written Chinese and English.
You will be familiar with the full Microsoft Office suite and WordPress.
You will also have a flair for graphic design in the context of Villa Cathay’s current brand image.
You will have a strong sense of what is relevant for Villa Cathay couple with a good attention to details.

Your Commitment:

With this role, you can do as much or as little as you’d like – and some of it from home.
Days of the week and the number of hours are flexible so please tell us your schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.
This can be an ongoing role or a project based role.

You will learn:

You will fine tune your design skills. You will strengthen your WordPress, HTML and MS Publisher skills.
This role is perfect for someone wanting to gain experience in an entry level marketing role or for a retiree wanting to rebuild their skills.
This role is also perfect for a high school or university student looking for a social media project.

Our Needs:

We need individuals with accurate typing skills to assist our staff with a variety of typing projects.
This includes memos, letters, and reports using Windows 10 and Microsoft Word. It also includes data entry using Microsoft Excel, our staff scheduling system or our accounting system.
This is an ongoing role with lots of openings.

Your Skills & Experience:

You will be familiar with Microsoft Word and Excel. We will train you on our other systems as required.

Your Commitment:

Days of the week and the number of hours are flexible so please tell us your schedule. We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

You will learn:

This role is perfect for someone wanting experience in an office administrative role or for a retiree wanting to give back to the community.

特別活動工作者

Our Needs:

We are looking for individuals who are able to plan, coordinate and execute small (10 participants) to medium (40 participants) sized events.
We are looking for individuals with the self-confidence to work directly with businesses and other community organizations to gain sponsorships and donations.

Your Skills & Experience:

You are up-beat, friendly, professional and organized.
You are comfortable working alongside other volunteers and staff.
Prior experience organizing events is an asset – but a willingness to learn and collaborate is just as important.
A valid BC driver’s license is an asset.

Your Commitment:

This is a project-based role and the hours will vary with the event.
Planning meetings with other volunteers often take place in the evenings and weekends – but occasionally during the business day.
We will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

You will learn:

You will expand your leadership skills and further develop your collaborative skills.
You will meet a variety of new people including community and civic leaders.
